"This Is England" Christmas Special Coming First!

Shane Meadows confirmed on the BBC News that he has signed a deal with Channel 4, to make a two-hour "This Is England" Christmas Special for this year. The special is titled "This Is England '88" and will be set around Christmas of 1988, obviously!
Meadows said, "It is set to pull together a lot of story threads from '86, leaving the way clear for a new series of This is England '90." This just means that we'll have to wait until next year now for a "This Is England '90" series.
