Batman VS RoboCop!

Batman aka Michael Keaton has officially signed on as the evil CEO of OCP, Reymond Sellars in the 2013 reboot of the "RoboCop" franchise.
This was the character that Hugh Laurie was originally rumored to have been cast as. Clive Owen was then rumored to be on the top of MGM's list to take over the role when it was confirmed that Laurie was nowhere near signing on to the 2013 reboot. Director Jose Padilha had this to say about casting Keaton in the role

"Michael is the final addition to the amazing cast we have assembled for this film and it is so great to have the last puzzle piece in place. It is thrilling that everything has come together to bring this innovative new vision of RoboCop to life. We’ve got a great script, a great cast, some killer ED-209’s and I can’t wait to get Alex Murphy back on the streets,"

"DALLAS" Is Back!!!

YES, the much loved all American TV show that aired between the late 70's and early 90's is back on the screens once more in this updated version, that works as both a reboot and sequel to the original series starring TV legends, Larry Hagman (JR Ewing), Patrick Duffy (Bobby Ewing) and Linda Gray (Sue Ellen Ewing).
The three main original characters are returning to the show 20 years on after it left our screens. They will be accompanied by the new younger generation cast of the show, John Ross Jr. (Josh Henderson), who is JR's son......OBVIOUSLY!!! Christopher (Jesse Metcalfe), who is Bobby's son, and their partners Elena Ramos (Jordana Brewster) and Rebecca Barnes (Julie Gonzalo).
Another newest addition to the 2012 cast is "Desperate Housewives" star Brenda Strong, who will be playing Bobby Ewing's third wife, Ann Ewing.
Now I've never seen "DALLAS" before in my life, but my Mum and Dad used to watch it, Mum mainly. My Mum's favorite character was of course Bobby Ewing. He was the heart-throb of the show back then, but now it seems that Jess Metcalfe, who's playing his son Christopher will be taking that role now. And obviously the new JR of the show, John Ross Jr. played by Josh Henderson will also take that role too, but also as the shows bad boy as well.
Even though I never watched the show, I still knew what the show was about, oil and cattle-ranching businesses. And I know the names of the characters, I even know "who shot JR?", but that's it basically. OH, and it had and still has and awesome theme tune!!!

And here's the link to the new 2012 theme and opening: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VhCJJ7EbUNU
I probably will after seeing the new show go back and make an effort to watch the original TV show also, like buy the seasons cheap on DVD from eBay or somewhere.
I knew that there was rumors of a new version of the show in making and had been for years. A BIG-screen film was set to be getting made a few years back with John Travolta taking on the role of J.R, but the project obviously fell through. But I kind of got excited about this new version when I saw the preview trailer waaaaay last year announcing that it was like a whole year off from hitting our screens. After watching it, I loved it, but then forgot about it, hence why I have posted anything about till now, a week before the UK premiere.
Like I said above, the new series does look very very good and enjoyable to watch for old and well like me, new fans to watch. Hopefully the new series will last longer than other reboot shows, maybe not as long as the original show which lasted for about 13 seasons, but I'm sure 4 or 5 will do this time round. It's already getting a second series, which should begin in the US next Summer.
Here's a links to a few trailers for the new series which has already nearly finished in the US, but is beginning next Wednesday on Channel 5 at 9pm.

Moffat Talks Female Doctor!

"Doctor Who" head writer Steven Moffat has said that "Doctor Who" will probably go on forever with the BBC because of the strong viewings and the fact that it's still a MEGA money maker for the studio. He also commented finally on the thought of a female Doctor when or after present Doctor, Matt Smith quits.

“It is a part of Time Lord lore that it can happen. Who knows, the more often it is talked about the more likely it is to happen some day.”

It was rumored for ages that "Sherlock" star Lana Pulver (above), was said to be interested in taking on the role of the very first female Doctor when or after Smith quits. She later denied all rumors saying that.
I like the thought of seeing a female Doctor someday, but I don't know if I or anyone else would actually enjoy it if it ever did really happen.

"Doctor Who: 50th Anniversary" Artwork & Rose Tyler Hints!

The BBC have released the first pieces of artwork for the BIG 50th anniversary of long-running British sci-fi drama "Doctor Who". The artwork features all eleven Doctors and some of the shows greatest enemies.
11th Doctor, Matt Smith, hinted about the possibilities of old companion Rose Tyler returning for the shows 50th.
“If I wanted a companion from the past I would say Rose because I am good friends with Billie.”

The return of Rose, played by the great Billie Piper, is still very possible seeing as it's still rumored that David Tennant's 10th Doctor is expected to appear too.

New Poster & Trailer For "Paranormal Activity 4"

The new full length trailer for the latest installment in the "Paranormal Activity" franchise is pretty good, but I get the feeling I've seen it all before though. I love the films, but now it seems too different from the original three.
I know now they should change it around a bit, but now it revolves around Katie and her nephew moving into a house next door to the girl above's family and strange things start to happen in her house. Yeah it's good, it's fresh, but is it really. I don't know if it'll be as good as the first three films.
Here's the trailer, check it out for yourselves: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g4yp2t7Doac

House Isn't In "ROBOCOP" But King Arthur Could Be!

It's been widely confirmed that "House" star Hugh Laurie will not be playing the OCP villain in the new 2013 reboot of "RoboCop". It was said that he was set to play the Dick Jones type character in the Jose Padihla directed film, but it now turns out he was no where near signing for the role. It was just a rumor, but was set up to look real a few months back.
Now it's been reported that Clive Owen is on the top of MGM's list to take over the role. There's been no confirmation, but if this is real, then confirmation will happen soon seeing as the fillm is set to begin filming next month.

Keith Lemon Wants To Make "Carry On" Type Films!

Leigh Francis, well known for his character alter ego Keith Lemon, has said during interviews for his upcoming first BIG-screen outing "Keith Lemon: The Film", that he'd like to do more films featuring the cast from this one. He said that he plans to do what the team behind the much loved classic "Carry On" films did and keep the cast coming back for different types of films which could feature different genres.
It's rumored that Lemon wants to make an action parody film next and then a horror comedy. It's said that he's wanting to go along the lines of "Shaun Of The Dead" and "Hot Fuzz".
Obviously if this first film fails, then I really can't see him wasting time making more, but then some of the "Carry On" film didn't do great either, but they still kept getting made well into the early 90's. Let's just watch this space shall we.
Also on the note of Keith Lemon, ITV2's "Celebrity Juice" is set to start back on TV on August 30th. This series will mark the shows 8th series in total. Episode 1's guests are to include Kelly Brook and Ronan Keaton, who are both starring alongside Lemon in the film that comes out tomorrow.

The "Dragon Tattoo" Sequel Release Date Delayed!

It's been announced that the sequel to the 2001 remake of "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" has been delayed because the script isn't yet finished. "The Girl Who Played With Fire" was set for a late 2013 release date, but now it seems it could be out in 2014 sometime instead. Steven Zaillian is penning the script as we speak, but he was to have it done by now, but hasn't.

No More "Expendables" For Chuck Norris!

During one of the premieres for "The Expendables 2", action legend Chuck Norris confirmed that he'll not be returning for the already planned "Expendables 3",

"Nope. Just number 2. This is it for me. Oh, yeah. This is very special. Just to be able to do the film with guys I've known for many, many years. To get a chance to get in and fight with them, it was a lot of fun. Plus getting a chance to meet Terry Crews, who I hadn't met before. And Jason Statham, whom I hadn't met before. It was fun just to do that."

"Dumb & Dumber 2" Plot Details!

While promoting their UK release of "The Three Stooges", Digital Spy got a chance to ask Bobby Farrelly about the possible plot for the on/off/on again "Dumb & Dumber" sequel.
Here's the interview direct from Digital Spy,

What’s the current status of the Dumb and Dumber sequel?

“It’s definitely something we’ve been hoping for a long time. We always wanted to get the two original guys Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels back together and see what they’re up to. Now it’s almost 20 years after the original and the other guys are in a point in their career where they had so much fun the first time that they’re willing to do it. We will make this movie.”

Are you still hoping to shoot next year?

“We were hoping to shoot it very soon – this fall – but that didn’t come to pass because of scheduling conflicts. Jeff has a successful TV show over here now so we have to work around that. We are planning on shooting it this coming spring and hopefully it will be out by next fall. That’s the plan and that will be our next movie, we’ve already written the script. We’re very anxious to get back in business with those two guys.”

Are you able to give us any hints about the storyline? Have Lloyd and Harry had a lucky break yet after missing that bikini bus?

“I can tell you that there is no growth out of either one of them and it’s 20 years later. What is funny about the original is that they’re grown men who are complete losers and when the studio came to us about a sequel, we were like, ‘Loads of kids are losers and they’re dumb.’ We didn’t see any value in the sequel so we backed out of it, but now these guys are in regular life and they’re still basically children at heart. The story revolves around the fact that one of them may have sired a child. They want to go and find the child because he’s having a kidney problem and he wants to ask him for one of his kidneys.”

After reading the interview above, it sounds like very good news for the sequel. It may just happen after all.

"The Inbetweeners Movie 2" Coming Our Way!

That's right folks..............."The Inbetweeners Movie 2" is on it's way according to co-creator and co-writer Ian Morris,

"sort of, yes. We've got an idea, think we'd like to do it if we can make it good, but we're a long way from it really happening. Long way".

"Yes. I think we all want it to happen, but the 'ifs' are quite big"

There have been rumors for ages of a new film being in the works as well as rumors of a "Series 4" to the hit Channel 4 show. All rumors were always debunked by Ian Morris until now!

"The Walking Dead: Series 3" Take Over Entertainment Weekly!

"The Office" To End After 9th Season!

The amazingly funny and entertaining US version of "The Office" is finally coming to an end after 9 full seasons. The shows exec producer Greg Daniels confirmed this in an interview about the upcoming season, say that it would be the shows last.
This is what Daniels told THR about the upcoming season and ending it all off and tying up the loose ends with the characters and their wee story arcs and not wanting to drag the show on to the grave (quotes in blue, taken from THR),

“As we head into the homestretch, we have a lot of exciting things I’ve been wanting to do since season two,”

“The end should be pretty cool.”

“At some point you have a choice: to always tell the beginnings of stories and the middles or to allow a story to end, and I think endings can be very powerful and meaningful pieces of the story,” he said. “If we didn’t let it end this year, I don’t know if we would have been able to tell the endings for so many characters that I really want to know the endings for.”

“The real heart of the show are these arcs that allow these characters to have ongoing stories. It’s all going to be set up in the premiere,” Daniels said. “There’s so much to pay off from nine seasons, so many great characters, that my biggest concern is just tacking in these great ideas that the writing staff has on the walls and making sure we hit all of them or at least squeeze as many into the ending.”

He was finally asked about the return of Steve Carell's character Michael Scott ever coming back for an appearance in the final episode,

“We’ll see,” Daniels said of the idea to bring the actor back to the series that helped launch his career. “We have ideas for the ending, and obviously if he would participate, we would have a lot of good times. The idea will fly without him if he can’t make it. He is pretty busy.”

Well I can't sit back and say that I never saw this coming. I personally thought the creators would keep going with at least a 10th season, then end it, i mean round it off with 10 seasons. But it looks like it's happening right after this season instead. It's going to be quite sad to see it all end, because I loved this US version of "The Office" and I really truly don't want it to ever end..........SAD TIMES!!!

"Winter Soldier" To Star A Pilgrim?

It's been confirmed that Marvel Studios are looking at Scott Pilgrim's sister Anna Kendrick, to star in the lead female role in the 2014 sequel, "Captain America: The Winter Solider". The studio are also looking at Imogen Poots and Felicity Jones as well.
It's yet unknown how close any of the actresses are to getting the role or even what role they are going for, but I'm sure we'll find out soon enough.

UPDATE: Anna Kendrick is most likely to get the role after what co-producer Anthony Russo said about her,

“There are a lot of good talent, but Anna Kendrick gently mixes features tough, especially over time, she has proven her own ability. Can't say anything, but we do not deny hope to have the opportunity to collaborate with her in the near future”

James Gunn Is Marvel's Top Choice For The Guardians?

It's been reported that "Dawn Of The Dead: 2004 Remake" writer James Gunn is on the top of Marvel's list for directing their 2014 live-action "Guardians Of The Universe" film. Gunn previously directed vigilante heo film "SUPER", starring "Office" star Rainn Wilson.
Is Gunn ready for a BIG superhero project like this? While this report was released online, The Hollywood Reporter also revealed which Guardians will be appearing in the 2014 film. Here's what they revealed,

"The movie's lineup will include Drax the Destroyer, a human resurrected as a green warrior with the sole purpose of killing Thanos (the villain in the Avengers final-scene tease); Groot, a giant tree-man; Star-Lord, a gun-toting half-human/half-alien intergalactic vigilante; Rocket Raccoon, a genetically engineered animal with a knack for guns and explosives; and Gamora, the last survivor of her species who was saved by Thanos to be his assassin but now battles him."

"Kick-Ass 2" To Get Dumb?

It was rumored yesterday that "Dumb & Dumber" star Jim Carrey is in talks with Universal to join the cast of "Kick-Ass 2". He's said to be playing the role of Colonel Stars, one of the two leaders of Justice Forever crime-fighting group.
"Kick-Ass" creator Mark Millar mentioned on his Facebook page that he can't confirm or deny anything related to this report/rumor.

New Trailer For The 2013 "Star Trek" Game!

A new trailer for the 2013 game "Star Trek" has been released online. The story is still set in the JJ Abrams reboot universe and features Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto reprising their roles as Kirk and Spock from the 2009 film. The game is set up as a sequel to the 2009 reboot and a prequel to next years film, which is the BIG-screen sequel to the 2009 reboot.........make sense? Anyway, the villains in this game are none other than the deadly Gorns. If you don't know who this alien reptile race is, then here's a pic that will remind you.
And here's what they look like now in game form,
Nuff said on that one i think. Anyway, the Gorn attack the Enterprise and Kirk and Spock must save the day as usual. You get to play as either Kirk or Spock or play as them both on the two player option.
Visually, the game is stunning looking. It looks very different from any other "Star Trek" game ever made. Pine and Quintos likeness is used for the Kirk and Spock in the game, which is good. You can run around, which isn't usually the case in the "Trek" games.
I think this game could very much be a BIG seeing as the team behind the reboot and it's 2013 sequel are behind it. I have no idea when it's out, but I'm assuming sometime around the release date of the BIG-screen sequel in May 17th, 2013.

RoboCop To Go Through Four Different Armors In 2013 Reboot?

Drew McWeeny over Hitfix.com is reporting that the new RoboCop will go through 3 armors before getting to the right one, the 4th. The armors will consist of an updated version of the classic 80's armor to highly technical futuristic version, which is where the film is set.
Basically the new Robo has been tagged as a "Transformer" on quite a few movie rant sites. Below also tells us that there's definitely going to be a few more changes to the characters, like Lewis now being a male character, but still Murphy's partner though.
Here's McWeeny's quotes on the new armors and the parts of the script,
In the film, when Murphy is turned into Robocop 1.0, it’s described “a high-tech version of the ’80s suit.” Then they show a focus group scene where criminals laugh at the design. “He looks like a toy from the ’80s!” So they redesign him to look “meaner” as Robocop 2.0, who passes focus group approval. So they not only make sure to include the original design, they also point out it’s dated and stupid.
Hold onto your sides for more hilarious “Robocop” details. They outsource his construction to China.
And we meet the ED-209s in the field in Iran, where they’re used to subdue suicide bombers.
Ahhh… now they just dropped Robocop 3.0 onto an Al Queda training camp to see what he does. “He should be programmed to incapacitate in all scenarios.” “Agreed. Let’s keep him PG-13, Dr. Norton.” No. No. No. No.
By page 54, they are already onto Robocop 4.0, who looks like a “cop on steroids painted metallic blue.” Oh, god… oh dear god… Robocop is a Transformer. He goes from “social mode” to “combat mode” and back. Full transformation.
It’s tough to determine tone on the page, but “satire” seems low on their list of priorities.
Okay… the two “best” lines in the script. First up is at the unveiling ceremony for Robocop in Detroit, from a TV reporter covering it. “I think it’s safe to say that Alex Murphy is now part man, part machine, ALL COP!” Yes, I too remember the original poster, asshat.
Second, after the traumatic first meeting with his father, Alex’s son retreats to the apartment of Lewis, Murphy’s male partner. The scene ends with the action line “David sits, catatonic, looks at the TV — MGM REMAKE TBD.” It means “to be determined.” They haven’t decided which of their other movies to plug with that clip.
Someone shows Pope, head of the OCP project, some mock-ups for Robocop action figures. “Are you kidding? I wouldn’t buy that for a dollar!”
I’ll say this: once the script stops all the winky-winky crap and just starts telling a story, it’s not terrible. But it’s way too late.If you can get past Robocop The Transformer, there are some interesting action beats. And I’m sure Padilha will direct the hell out of it.
In a way, I like the change up. This means that no one can really compare it to the 80's original, because this is totally a different film in every way, shape and form. The setting is in the 2020 something, Lewis is a guy, every other characters names are different, the look and feel will be different, RoboCop himself is going to look dfferent.......I like it!!!

"KICK-ASS 2" Gets Official Release Date!

Universal Studios have announced that "KICK-ASS 2: Balls On The Wall" will be released on June 28th, 2013. It was rumored that it would've been getting a February 2013 released date, but that rumor was debunked and now the official one has been revealed.
