"TRON 3" Confirmed For 2013 Release Date!

While at Disney D23 expo, "TRON" star, Bruce Boxleitner was questioned about his return to the grid by a fan and he replied by saying that it's already a "done deal". That must mean that Disney are deffo planning a third outing in the on-going sci-fi Disney franchise.
He said that it should be out by 2013, but he didn't say who will be returning from the previous two films or even what this new film will be about. He just said that it's happening and that he's in it.
I just watched the second film, "TRON: Legacy" for the first time the other day on Sky Movies. It's alright, it's not great, but it's not bad either. It does indeed have it's awesome moments. But the only thing I hated was the guy who played Kevin Flynn's son, Sam, Garret Hedlund. The character was great, just fucking hated the actor. I hope the re-cast him or just not have him in the next film.

  3. Come one now, I thought the actor that portrayed Sam Flynn did a pretty good job. I do not consider myself the best of movie critics but I thought that Tron was an excellent movie, might just be me but who knows.

  5. Olivia was definatly a plus but ive seen this multiple times. I have to say it is one of the best movies i have ever seen. It did more than look cool if you think it has a tons of stuff from one and lots of un solved problems for 3. Like what he does with the other light cycle. Or since Tron turned blue at the what he has to do. The only thing i could complain about is not getting more than a basic understanding of Sam. Also he did more than ok he was born to play that role. Like Robert Downey Jr was to play tony stark. They dont need to recast him just give us a better understanding in 3. yes 2 told us about his dad and kind of gave us aan idea as to what he is going to do with Quorra. But 3 should show his envolvement with encom and if tyouve seen the teaser Read if not see it than read. Anyway hopefully we see his envolvment with Flynn Lives. But i just wonder what they are going to do with the grid. Flynn and Clu are still there. So is Zues so i dont know if they have Flynn sorta rule it or what. Or if they somehow find Tron. All i can say is when i watch this i feel like the 3 part is out and im getting ready to go see it. Because it left unsolved problems that i cant wait to see.

Quorra said that if Flynn merged with Clu they would be destroyed, and based on the cataclysmic explosion when they merged it's safe to assume that was the case, so they're NOT still in there. Zeus was blown to bits along with Gem by Clu, so he's not still in there either. Of course, it's all just one big fantasy world so naturally anyone the writers want to bring back will be back, with whatever fantastic explanation they give for it.

Personally I really liked Tron Legacy. I thought the story line was pretty good, I liked which characters they brought back and focused on, along with the new characters that they introduced (Sam, Quorra, Gem and Zeus). The special effects were pretty amazing, and the soundtrack kicked ass. The acting and directing were also both very good, and I thought Sam was just about perfect for the role. As a skydiver myself with many hundred of jumps, the flaws with the base jump sequence off Encom tower bugged me, but there weren't that many scenes in the movie that I didn't like. The original movie (which I saw in theaters as a kid) was good for its time, but the sequel blows it away imho, and I for one am looking forward to the 3rd installment.

    1. Zues and Gem may have died but you can not confirm his death directors can bring back characters that you did not see the death of, sure you saw the club explode but that does not mean that Zues and Gem are dead how would they have got Rinzler in story if he is tron you didnt see tron destroyed.

  9. They'r deffs making a third, they left the ending to wide open. No way did tron derez and come on people, its disney, flynn didn't really die. It actually frustraits me how wide open they left it. There was practically no ending.

  11. Everyone on this page forgot to mention that Edward Dillinger, son of the original bad guy from the first Tron, is the chief programmer for Encom now, and I am pretty damn sure he will be the new bad guy in Tron 3. Also if u listen closely when the programs go into reprograming thing, u can hear the voice of the MCP. So im calling spoiler alert that, the Dillingers and MCP will be seen again in Tron 3.
