FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE NOT SEEN "IRON MAN 3" YET............DON'T READ THIS POST!!!
So yeah, Robert Downey Jr has mentioned that he would play Tony Stark for as long as possible, but recently he's spoken out about the chances of that actually being possible in reality. He got slightly injured during the filming of the third film in the trilogy and it's making him re-think his game plan for the next "IRON MAN" and "Avenger" films.
His contract has finished and nothing has been signed for him to return as the much loved Tony Stark in "Avengers 2", even though he'll sign it once the world release of "IRON MAN 3" is done with. Anyway, Downey Jr has said that he's thinking about doing this role for about three more years, which would make him 50 years old and in that three years, the only film in the MCU that he would be definitely starring in would be "Avengers 2"..........so no fourth "IRON MAN" film then?!
Well after seeing "IRON MAN 3", which by the way, is just the bomb, with yeah, some iffy moments but all in......FUCKING AWESOME!!!! I'm going to review it with in the next week or so, but yeah, he makes a new suit that he can use and not even be in it which could come in handy for future "IRON MAN" and "Avengers" films. I think that there shouldn't be a fourth, fifth and sixth film because the way the third film ended, it ended everything in the stand-alone films, much like "The Dark Knight" trilogy. It did though say at the end that Tony Stark will return. This could either be for another film or if it just means Tony Stark will just stay in the "Avengers" films now.
Now, during a press conference, one of the guys over at ComicBookMovie.com got a chance to ask Robert a question about a possible fourth, fifth and sixth "IRON MAN" films and this is what he said,
Here's what the guy from ComicBookMovie.com said to Tony Stark himself,
Robert. There is a definite "finality" with this movie, but you know you're never going to get rid of this character, you're too perfect for it. So my question is, how go the negotiations for Iron Man 4, 5 and 6?
And here's what Robert Downey Jr said back to him,
I'm not at liberty to discuss that. I do want to say that our stunt coordinator came to me at one point and said, "You see how Don just rolled into the room and fired off all those shots, the guys fell and he went just exactly where he was supposed to go?" I said, "Yeah, what are you getting at?" And he goes, "Nuthin".
The future, as usual is uncertain, and I think the great thing is that we never could've known what and who was gonna come togther for the third Iron Man, and usually the third of anything struggles to even meet the first two let alone the first one. In all earnestness, things are very much in flux right now. Marvel has their plans, and we're all living and growing, and we'll see what happens.
