"I play Shredder. It is cool. It's one of those things that came along where I thought, 'Really? Let me think about this for a minute.' [Laughs] Then I was like, 'Yeah, OK, this sounds like a journey.' I'm very glad that it worked out, I'm really glad that I'm doing it."
I don't know if he'll be a good Shredder or not. I think he's a good actor but playing such an iconic villain like this one......I'm really not sure to be perfectly honest.
My thoughts on this? I read the interview about it and laughed out loud. I thought he was making a joke or it was a slip-up. Do I care much? No. It's Michael Bay. What did you expect? The Transformers movies had barely anything to do with Transformers, so I've always been foreseeing him giving the same sort of treatment to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Changing Shredder's ethnicity and full name I'm sure is only the beginning. Let's wait until Krang is possibly a 20-foot slug or something. We can only guess.
ReplyDeleteThe big question that everyone has been asking for years is "Why does Michael Bay have to be involved with every horror reboot and every reboot of our favorite 1980's cartoons?" Because you all keep going to see his movies! The last Transformers movie made over a billion dollars worldwide! Sure I thought the Transformers movies were entertaining enough, though I wish they were called something else. The title was the bait and we were the fish. You have the choice to see the new TMNT or not. My suggestion is if you don't like the concept, avoid the bait and don't see it.
