Uncle Ben & Spartacus Die!
Hi guys, I haven't been able to be online, updating my blog, but now I'm back and this post may be late but here it is anyway.
Over a week ago, two more great actors sadly passed away. First was "Spartacus: Blood And Sand" star, Andy Whitfield, who sadly died of Lymphoma at the age of 39, on September 9th and second was Uncle Ben himself, Cliff Robertson, just one day after his 88th birthday on September 12th.
Whitfield had been battling his ilness for some time now. This was the reason why he could not continue as Spartacus in the Starz tv show. And Robertson, basically just died of old age.
They will both be missed dearly by both their family and fans.

New Promo Images For "Spartacus: Blood And Sand-Series 2"
First, i just need to say that I'm loving the fact that the main guy from "Spartacus: Gods Of The Arena" is back, Gannicus, played by Dustin Clare. And why is Lucy Lawless back as Lucretia? Maybe it's a flashback sequence or something, but by the looks of the trailer, she actually survives the big attack on the House of Batiatus. Loving the look of Liam McIntyre in full Spartacus form. He does look a lot like the first guy who played the role, Andy Whitfield.
I'm really looking forward to the next series of "Spartacus: Blood And Sand" which is under the new title of "Spartacus: Vengeance". Here's the latest trailer for the next series, which airs on Starz in January 2012, so the UK will probably get it sometime next year, like near the Summer time. http://youtu.be/GObQ_VCGu6w

Liam McInture Is Spartacus!
Aussie actor, Liam McIntyre has been officially cast as the new Spartacus, after the great Andy Whitfield had to sadly leave the show as his cancer came back and was worse.
Season 2 of the series finds Spartacus and his fellow gladiators now out of Capua and engaged in the massive slave rebellion against Roman society that has echoed through time.
Production of "Spartacus: Blood & Sand-Series 2" which is under the working title of "Spartacus: Vengence" will resume in Spring 2011.

First Full-On "Spartacus: Gods Of The Arena" Trailer!
Fucking awesome trailer for the six-part prequel series, which will have a cameo at some point from Andy Whitfield's Spartacus. It will be his last appearence as the leading role as of course his cancer has returned and came back worse. Producers of "Blood And Sand" are still in the stages of recasting the role of Spartacus for a "Series 2", which is set to film later this year.
"Gods Of The Arena" will premiere in America on Starz on January 21st, but will premiere on Bravo later this year, possibly the beginning of next year.

Three Guys In The Running For "Spartacus" Lead Role!
It's bee announced that Starz are planning to continue the series of "Spartacus: Blood & Sand" with a second series without original actor, Andy Whitfield, as he as been made to leave due to his cancer being worse than before.
Starz have three guys in auditions stage. They are as followed, Stephen Amell, Aiden Turner and Liam McIntyre. To me they all look alike and they all kinda look like a more muscular verison of Andy Whitfield. I wonder if whoever gets it can pull it off and be as incredible as Whitfield. It's so sad that he can't return. Ido have a funny feeling that McIntyre will get the role.

Andy Leaves Spartacus...........
Now I really hate this as much as you lot hate this. But it looks like Andy Whitfields cancer has returned. This time it's worse, as it's made him leave the show. He was advised by his doctor.Starz have released no comment on wether they will recast the character or just finish after the prequel airs in January 2011.
Pre-Production on "Series 2" of the hit show was to start very soon, with Whitfield thought to have beaten his cancer.

A Bloody Epic Ending To Spartacus!
"Kill Them All" saw the House Of Batiatus fall in blood. This final episode was absolutely amazing. It was the most bloody graphic episode out of the whole series. If you've saw it, then you'll know what I'm talking about. When Spartacus found out that Batiatus had given the word for his wife to be killed, Spartacus then made plans to kill everyone to get break free finally happened, including Batiatus. So him and the rest of the Gladiators finally rebelled against Batiatus and broke free. They killed everyone. From the guests of Batiatus, to his soldiers, from Lucretia, to Batiatus. Even Varro's wife, Aurelia got her revenge and killed Numerius. EPIC! Such a bloody ending. The only person that really survived was Ilithyia, played by the very sexy, Viva Bianca, who will become the Queen Bitch in "Series 2". Excellent. Ilithyia is said to become the female Batiacus of the next series. Interesting.....
When Lucretia and Batiatus were killed, in a way it was sad to see them go. They were both amazing characters to watch every week. I'm really looking forward to the prequel series, which will feature them rising. Batiatus was a dick, but he was fun to watch.
The episode ended with Spartacus breaking free with the slaves and the, well, surviving Gladiators, including Doctore and Crixus. This will now lead onto "Series 2".
Altogether, I'd give the whole series 10 out of 10. I can't wait for the prequel, "Gods Of The Arena" to start in the new year on Bravo. I also can't wait for the DVD boxset of the first series to come out next year. And, obviously, I can't wait for "Series 2" of "Blood And Sand" to air on TV in 2011, with the triumphant return of Andy Whitfield as Spartacus. Back and cleared of cancer. Whitfield is said to be making a small cameo in the prequel. Could be interesting.

Spartacus: Gods Of The Arena-Comic-Con Panel Video!
Above is the logo for the new six-part prequel to the "Spartacus" series, "Blood And Sand". As you can see, the prequel series is called, "Gods Of The Arena". Awesome title. There's no point me telling you much about the prequel series or even "Series 2" of "Blood And Sand". At Comic-Con, the cast and crew had their own panel and were discussing the future of "Spartacus".
Here's the link to the panel video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=axNIHWVAqw4 and also, here's the link to "Gods Of The Arena" teaser: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KB_H3HyosCA

"Spartacus" Prequel Details!
Seeing as "Spartacus: Blood And Sand" actor, Andy Whitfield is now recovering from non-hodgkin lymphoma. The studio have planned to keep the fans occupied with a prequel to "Spartacus".The prequel is titled, "Spartacus: God Of The Arena" and will star John Hannah, Lucy Lawless, Jamie Murray, Dustin Clare, Peter Mensah, Marisa Ramirez and also Andy Whitfield will make a brief cameo in the six-part series, when it gets closer to the finale.
The creators have released some details about the new series: The plot will tell the story of Batiatus (John Hannah) who is not yet the head of his family or of the gladiator training school. Gannicus is the lead gladiator in the Ludus, but the House of Batiatus hasn’t earned social respect or the right for its gladiators to fight in championship bouts. Gannicus struggles to turn around the House’s luck.
Whitfield is then set to rejoin the "Spartacus" show for it's second series. The studio plan to start shooting for "Series 2" as soon as they are done filming the prequel.
Filming for the prequel will begin this August for it's TV premire on Starz Channel in January 2011.

New "Spartacus" TV Show Is Bloody Fantastic!
"Spartacus: Blood And Sand" started on Bravo last Tuesday night at 10pm and will be running for 13 weeks on the same channel at the same time.
I'm now on episode two. The pilot was awesome. Basically it's "300" mixed with "Rome: The TV Series". So really if you were a fan off them two, then you will enjoy this. It's really everything a guy needs in a show; blood, violence, female nudity and full-on sex. Woooohoooo! This is my kinda show. The show was big in America. It's now finished and the cast are now waiting to film series two, which was commissioned last December. The actor who plays Spartacus, Andy Whitfield, is quickly recovering from non-hodgkin lymphoma cancer.
So, to keep us going, the studio have commissioned a prequel series which will begin filming in August and will air on American TV in January 2011. But the official second series with Whitfield as Spartacus will go into production in November of this year and will air later next year.
This first series has had mixed reviews from the start, but built up to a very postive reviews near the end, hence the second series.
So far in the first two episodes we've seen Spartacus fight with the Romans and then fight against them. The head Roman that he fought against, Gaius Claudius Glaber, comes and takes his hot babe of a wife, Sura, played by Erin Cummings, away from him. So Glaber lets his men rape Spartacus's wife and he sells her to some guy who uses her as a slave. Glaber takes Spartacus to a Roman coliseum where he was meant to fight to the death. He manages to fight through all four gladiators and Lentulus Batiatus, played by the great John Hannah, see's something good in him. So he buys him and add's him to his gladiators and trains him up. Basically thats the story so far. OH! And Lucy Lawless is in it also. She plays Batiatus's wife, Lucretia. She gets naked a lot. Nice! Xena naked.
