Ricky Gervais Talks About "The Muppets 2"

While promoting his latest series "Derek", extremely funny man Ricky Gervais was asked about his upcoming lead role in the next big screen "Muppets" sequel. Here's what Gervais said about his part in "The Muppets 2",

"I'm in awe of The Muppets. I've loved them for like 35 years. I actually can't wait, I'm really excited. I was there yesterday on set and honestly, I'm like an eight year old at Christmas. I love it!”

“It’s great in that I know the director, he’s fantastic and did the first one. But there’s always room for collaboration. People always listen to your ideas, I listen to people’s ideas. When I’m in charge we finish at three or four in the morning. The Muppet movie might go on until six! It’s going to be hell [laughs]”.

"The Muppets" Sequel Coming Out Next Summer!

Nick Stoller, one of the writers of the last years "The Muppets" has been talking about the planned sequel that could be out as quickly as next summer. He said that Disney are planning to make a homage film to 1981 classic, "The Great Muppet Caper".
He doesn't think Jason Siegel or Amy Adams will come back for the sequel, but there is a small chance that they may both cameo in it. Siegel also won't return to help write it, like what he did with the first film too, along with Stoller.
This is what Stoller said on what Disney are planning,
"They want to do it. They want it as soon as possible, which is good. I'm not sure exactly when they want to release it. I think it was something like next summer. I don't think that's realistic in terms of getting it all together in time. But to want to do it so quickly is great. It certainly makes us want to write it quickly. I'm writing with James Bobin. We've outlined it over the past couple weeks and we literally started writing it yesterday. The first 13 pages are written. It is started. It is on."
And this is what he said on Jason Siegel and Amy Adams possible cameos,
"There's a cameo possibility in it, definitely. Gary and Mary's story is concluded. There's not much to say after that for their story, but we follow them up into a...I will say, it is a caper. It is a comedy caper. It's similar to the first one. [It] had dramatic connections to the first Muppet movie, but it was a whole new thing, hopefully. This is the same thing. We love The Great Muppet Caper. So this has some elements of that, but it's different because it's in the tone of what [we] like to do."

"The Muppets" Gets A Sequel!

Disney have announced that their new "Muppets" film is getting a sequel. The script is being written as we speak. I went to see the new film and I left with a smile on my face, not because the girl next to me in the cinema wanked me off, no, because the film was deffo the best kids films that I've seen since the "Toy Story" films.
They said that the lead live actor and writer of the first film, Jason Segel will not be writing the new sequel, due to scheduling conflicts, but hasn't ruled out in appearing in it.
