"A Nightmare On Elm Street" Review!

First, I have to say that Jackie Earle Haley is so much scarier and better than Robert England. Really. Haley brings the scare back into Freddy Krueger, where as Robert England brought the scare into the character in the first 3 films, then just became stupid and really......well, kinda like a comic-horror character. Haley really does look like a burn victim and says some things that only a creep would say. He does say some things that did make me laugh a bit. But most of his performance was serious and scary. The girl who played Nancy, Rooney Mara, portrays her character better than Heather Langenkamp. She's more believable than the original Nancy. Let's hope she returns for the sequel, because a know Haley's returning.
The film actually is pretty shit-scary. I really jumped quite a lot throughout the film. I jumped twice within the first 10 minutes of it. Now that's unusual for me to be scared. I usually don't get scared easily. The last time a jumped, when watching a horror film was last year with the "Friday The 13th" remake. Only I jumped more this time.
Anyway, the plot for the film is pretty much similar to the original film. The is a few things that are different, all the other characters, other than Freddy and Nanct are different. They all have new names. The other difference to this film is that the creators of this film make the back story of Freddy better. They do it perfect this time. Turns out he was a gardener who worked and lived at a pre-school where all the main characters were at as kids. But they can't remeber they were all there together.
The death scenes aren't as graphic as I thought. They are still pretty violent though. About two of the deaths scenes looked like they were meant to be in 3D. They way Freddy's claw comes out to the camera, looks like it really was meant to come out to the audience. I do know that the film was close to becoming 3D. Wonder why they didn't do it. The producers did announce that they are doing a sequel and it's to be in 3D. Looking forward to that one.
When I saw Freddy, I kinda felt sorry for him. He, at first made it look like he was getting revenge for being killed for no reason. As if the parents of Elm Street made a mistake. So the film did kinda go that way with Nancy and Quentin searching for the truth on what actually happened to Krueger.
So they both finally find out what happened to him and they to felt sorry for him. When we saw the parents burn him, he did shoot out something like, "I didn't do anything!". So then again, you feel kinda sorry for him. But when Nancy and Quentin go back to the pre-school, they find something that make them remember what he did to them..............
Altogether I would say that this remake/reboot/prequel was very well done and I really don't understand why critics have gave it a mixed review, because it's truely amazing. I'd give it 10 out of 10.

Are We Revisiting "Elm Street" In 3D?

Okay, so the critics don't really like the new "Elm Street" film, but the fans seem to. Because the new film has taken in over $32 million at the box-office on it's opening weekend. Not amazing, but it seems that Warner Bros. are happy with it. So happy that they have commissioned a sequel for a possible 2011 release.
Warner are thinking about making it in 3D, which was the original idea for the remake. Seems like every film is going 3D now. I really wouldn't mind seeing Freddy's claw fly out at me, would be pretty cool really.
Jackie Earle Haley is contracted to play Freddy Krueger for 3 films and has agreed to return for the sequel. I really think that he'll do all 3 of them and possibly more. Maybe a 4, 5 and possibly 6 if he and Warner can handle it. Actress, Rooney Mara, who play's Nancy in the film is also contracted for 3 films, though no one at this point knows if she'll return or not.

"A Nightmare On Elm Street II-3D" is due for possible release sometime in 2011.

This Screen-Shot Creeps Me The Hell Out!

This is the scariest fucking thing that I've seen in ages, and it's only a picture.....well, screen-shot. The above pic is a screen-shot taken from the upcoming "Elm Street" remake/reboot. Now the past couple of pictures have been quite cool and scary looking, but this shot is what I call, "Shit-You're-Pants-Scary". He just looks so sinister and sadistic. Look at his skin. YUCK!
This screen-shot just creeps me out and makes me so much more excited about the film finally coming to the UK like next friday. WOOHOO!
Some critics have had an advanced screening of the film and have all gave it a great review so far. That sounds so-far-so-good. They especially praised Jackie Earle Haley for his portrail as Freddy. They all said that he is so much better. No funny, stupid stuff, just down right gritty and nasty and scary. They also said that the film is on of the bloodiest remakes they've ever seen and that it's also very disturbing. That's good. Can't wait..........

The Second Proper Look At The New Freddy!

Here's the second proper look at Jackie Earle Haley's new scarier Freddy Krueger from the "Elm Street" reboot. Again, he looks fucking epic looking, well better than England's. England's Freddy did look good in the first 3 films, but in the rest of the films his make-up looked plastic and fake. In one film, think it was either "A Nightmare On Elm Street 4 or 5" where Freddy even looked Chinese. Cum'on. What the fuck happened to the make-up there.
"Wes Craven's: New Nightmare" did make Freddy scary-as-fuck again. Finally. Thank god. And now, Freddy looks epic. Very fucking scary. Plus he really looks more like an actuall real burn victim and that's what the crew of the new film wanted to do. MAKE HIM LOOK AS REAL AS POSSIBLE! And by the looks of it, they've done just that.

"A Nightmare On Elm Street" is due for UK release on May 7th 2010.

1,2 The New Freddy's Coming For You...and he's looking creepier than ever!

This is the first real proper close-up of the new Freddy Krueger, played by Jackie Earle Haley, who played Rorschach in Watchmen. What we're seeing is what a real burn victim should look like. Robert England's Freddy was creepy, but after Elm Street 3, he just an everyday thing. He lost his whole scare-factor.
Jackie is trying to bring that scare-factor from the "Elm Street 1 & 2" back onto the big screen with his Freddy, as well as trying to be a lot more grittier. He also gonna bring some of his own spice to it. This time.....Freddy ain't cracking no jokes.
It's all about the killing. I'm so excited about "A Nightmare On Elm Street" 2010 Reboot/Remake Film. If you haven't already watched the new trailer, then do it now on YouTube.com
