"The Magnificent Seven" Getting Remade With Tom Cruise?
Rumours have started up on the net saying that MGM are getting ready on remaking, not rebooting, but remaking the 60's classic western, "The Magnificent Seven". There's also news that they want Tom Cruise attached to the project in some way. It's said that the film is still a few years off, seeing as they have reportedly only just started the planning stages of it.
I don't know if I can see Cruise playing a cowboy, but I'm just fucking happy that someone has decided to remake "The Seven" because I really want to see a traditional western back on the BIG-screens, well other than Quentin Tarantino's upcoming "Django Unchained". Plus I just want to see how they'd do it now. Will it be all dark and gritty like western TV show "Deadwood" or will they keep it all family friendly like the original with Steve McQueen and Yul Brynner? Only time will tell.
I would love to see a remake of 70's sci-fi western, "Westworld" next if that's possible. Again, would love to see how filmmakers would make it now with the technology that we have.

"MI4" Cast & Director Want A Fifth Film!
While in an interview with some online movie site, "Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol" cast members and director hinted that a sequel to the fourth film is in the pipe lines already over at Paramount. Simon Pegg is dead keen on a sequel and Tom Cruise confirmed that he won't be leaving anytime soon like originally rumored. Director Brad Bird loved working on the film, which was his first live-action film, and wants to return and make another one with the same cast.
I haven't seen the latest one yet. I really want to and I've heard and seen that it's had a great write up and it's made mega money in the box-office so no wonder "Mission Impossible 5" is already being discussed.

Reeves, Cruise & Depp Going Cyborg?
Keanu Reeves, Tom Cruise and Johnny Depp are all reported to be in talks for the role of Officer Alex Murphy aka ROBOCOP in Joe Padilha's upcoming reboot of the cyber-cop franchise.
Okay, this does sound like a MASSIVE fucking rumor. If it is true, I think Reeves would be the best for the role. He's got the best face for it. But, like I said before, I'd cast Timothy Olyphant for the role. He's the shit!

Simon Pegg Confirms That "Mission Impossible 4" Is A Reboot!
Simon Pegg has confirmed that the new "Mission Impossible" is indeed a reboot. Well he said that it has aspects of a reboot. The only thing that doesn't make it a full reboot is himself, Cruise and Rhames are all back. Where as if it were FULL reboot, then they wouldn't be back.
Here's what he said, "It’s a rebirth for the series. In the same way with what they’ve done with Spider-Man. I feel like it’s a reinvigoration of this particular story. It was a series when it was on TV, so it’s a story that can have so many iterations. There are so many adventures to get into with this team of impossible mission fighters.
During the confirmation, Pegg also commented on the fact that Brad Bird has never done action films before and that he did, at first, have concerns about him. Here's what he said about that, "... what they’ve done is they’ve brought in a director who’s never done live action before but who’s had a 100 percent hit rate for his previous movies: Ratatouille, The Incredibles, and The Iron Giant are all just five star films. Brad has just brought that sensibility to this film... I think the real key to this picture is Brad Bird."

"Mission Impossible 4" May Not Be Happening Now?
Because Cruise's new film, "Knight And Day" is doing pretty shit in the box-office, Paramount are reconsidering doing the fourth installment in the "Mission Impossible" franchise. It's really not the biggest loss in Hollywood, but cancelling something like "Star Trek II" (sequel to the 2009 Star Trek) would be.
