JJ Abrams Still Involved With "Star Trek 3" And "MI-5"

With all this news of "Star Trek" director JJ Abrams been given the chance to direct the 7th installment in the holy grail of franchises, "Star Wars", no one has actually stopped to ask if Abrams will continue his involvement in Paramount's "Star Trek" reboot franchise. The answer is YES!!! Paramount vice chairman Rob Moore has confirmed that Abrams will stay as producer on "Star Trek 3". He's also confirmed to still produce the 5th installment of their "Mission Impossible" franchise too.

"J.J. will continue to develop projects for us including a new Mission: Impossible, and he is committed to produce another Star Trek."

This is great news for Trekkies. I really hope he can possibly direct it too if he's got the time. He needs to direct the 3rd "Star Trek" film to at least finish his trilogy and then stay on as producer for further sequels.

"MI4" Cast & Director Want A Fifth Film!

While in an interview with some online movie site, "Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol" cast members and director hinted that a sequel to the fourth film is in the pipe lines already over at Paramount. Simon Pegg is dead keen on a sequel and Tom Cruise confirmed that he won't be leaving anytime soon like originally rumored. Director Brad Bird loved working on the film, which was his first live-action film, and wants to return and make another one with the same cast.
I haven't seen the latest one yet. I really want to and I've heard and seen that it's had a great write up and it's made mega money in the box-office so no wonder "Mission Impossible 5" is already being discussed.

Simon Pegg Confirms That "Mission Impossible 4" Is A Reboot!

Simon Pegg has confirmed that the new "Mission Impossible" is indeed a reboot. Well he said that it has aspects of a reboot. The only thing that doesn't make it a full reboot is himself, Cruise and Rhames are all back. Where as if it were FULL reboot, then they wouldn't be back.
Here's what he said, "It’s a rebirth for the series. In the same way with what they’ve done with Spider-Man. I feel like it’s a reinvigoration of this particular story. It was a series when it was on TV, so it’s a story that can have so many iterations. There are so many adventures to get into with this team of impossible mission fighters.
During the confirmation, Pegg also commented on the fact that Brad Bird has never done action films before and that he did, at first, have concerns about him. Here's what he said about that, "... what they’ve done is they’ve brought in a director who’s never done live action before but who’s had a 100 percent hit rate for his previous movies: Ratatouille, The Incredibles, and The Iron Giant are all just five star films. Brad has just brought that sensibility to this film... I think the real key to this picture is Brad Bird."

Ving Rhames Not Returning For "Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol"?

Supposedly because Paramount have cut the budget for the fourth "Mission" film, looks like they may have to cut some of the previous cast members also. For example, Ving Rhames. It looks like Paramount may not be having Ving Rhames return to the "Mission Impossible" franchise after all, eventhough it was previously announced that he was to. Poor Ving!

Renner To Take Over From Cruise In "Mission" Sequels!

Jeremy Renner has confimed that Paramount "Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocal" plan to have Renner's character take over from Tom Cruise's Ethan Hunt, if they choose to make sequels after the fourth film comes out next year. AWESOME! I fucking knew this would happen.
This is what Renner had to say: "It's a franchise to potentially take over. I can't predict the future and what they want, but that's certainly the idea."
Paramount plan to give the series a MASSIVE re-vamp. They originally planned to reboot the franchise with this film, but now it looks like they're rebooting it after this one. Nice!

"Mission Impossible 4" Gets Another New Title!

First, it was to be called, "Mission Impossible IV". Then it was to be called simply, "Mission Impossible" and it was described as a type of reboot. And then the title was changed to, "The Mission". Now Brad Bird has announced that the fourth film in the popular spy franchise has been undergoing some title change and is finally gonna be called......................."Mission Impossible-Ghost Protocol"
This fourth film has had four different titles to it over a space of not even a full year. God-sake!

And The Title To The New "Mission Impossible" Is..............

..........."THE MISSION".
Yes! "The Mission". Tom Cruise announced it the other day on his Twiter page. As this film is marked as a reboot, you can kinda understand why the name is to be different, as it was originally just gonna be called, "Mission Impossible".
I personally kinda like the new title and can't wait for the film to come out in cinemas around the globe.

Paula Patton Cast As Lead Female In "Mission Impossible" Sequel.....Or Is It Reboot?

The "Precious" star has officially been cast for the lead female role in the upcoming sequel, "Mission Impossible IV", which has just been announced to be dropping the "IV" in the title. So now speculations have risen that this sequel will actually be a complete reboot to the previous films, even though both Tom Cruise and Ving Rhames are returning. Weird! But thank god this film is finally coming together.

Hawkeye Joins Cruise For MI:4

Not only is Jeremy Renner playing Hawkeye in "The Avengers" but he's also joining the highly anticipated spy sequel, "Mission Impossible: IV". Renner officially signed on for the film at Paramount earlier this week.
Renner will star alongside Tom Cruise, Ving Rhames for the sequel. Other castings for roles in the film have been released as well. Anthony Mackie "The Hurt Locker, Kevin Zegers "Air Bud" and Christopher Egan "Letters To Juliet" are all in the running for a role or roles in the film.
I really have a funny feeling that Paramount are plannig to cast these young stars and more to carry on the franchise into a new generation of audience, once Cruise decides to leave, which probably won't be too long. For the fifth film (if one is made), Cruise will probably cameo in it, and leave it to a young crew to take over the reigns.
