Nic Cage Playing Two Roles In "Ghost Rider: Spirit Of Vegeance"

While promoting "Drive Angry 3D", Nic Cage let slip that he will be playing both Johnny Blaze and the Ghost Rider in an exorcism scene in the upcoming sequel/reboot to the 2007 film. This is what he said,
"There's an exorcism scene I just did where Johnny Blaze is being exorcized. And then I also play Ghost Rider, who's the spirit of Zarathos, who's a corrupted angel. So it's like completely different entities. The movie is not like anything I've done before."

"Ghost Rider 2" Will Have New Origin Story!

It's been announced that Johnny Blaze's backstory will be different in the upcoming sequel/reboot. No one knows what the new origin story will be, wether it'll be connected to any comic-book stories, or if it'll just be a completely brand-new story. That would be AWESOME to see happen. Just rewrite it to the full!

"Crank" Directors Gonna Ride With The Ghost?

Reports are suggesting that the writer/director pair Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor, the guys behind "Crank 1 & 2" are both in talks to make, "Ghost Rider II: Spirit Of Vengence". The script has been wrote by David Goyer, who's also working on "Batman 3" and "Superman 3.0" scripts for Christopher Nolan. Lot of sequels for him.
There are also reports saying that Nicolas Cage is most likely to return to the role. Cage is also set to return to "National Treasure" for the third installment. Cage will have to deal with "Ghost Rider II" first, seeing as Columbia could end up loosing the rights to the character if they don't begin filming soon.
Now let's hope that the film isn't rushed like some others that shall not be named, but everyone knows which films I'm talking about.

"Ghost Rider" Sequel Without Nick Cage?

Columbia Pictures is having to go ahead with "Ghost Rider II" with or without actor Nic Cage so that they can secure the rights of the Marvel Comic character.
Columbia are telling us that if Nic Cage don't commit to the project this year, then they may have to cast someone else as Ghost Rider instead. Which means whole new cast seeing as Eva Mendes is officially not returning. Might as well just reboot it then, because the studio did have plans to reboot with Nic Cage being kept as the rider, but it seems they just wanna make a straight sequel to the 2007 film. Columbia also added that if they don't go into production with this sequel by November 14th 2010, then they will legally loose the rights for the character. This means that it would then go to Marvel's new owner, Disney, who would then end up turning the dark franchise into something like a kids film. Happy family film. Noooooooooo!
So far Columbia have a their first draft of a script for the sequel, that was turned in by Writer David S Goyer, who is also writting, "Untitled Batman 3 Project" and "Superman 3.0 Reboot". WOW! Busy guy isn't he.
So the clock is ticking for Columbia Pictures to go ahead with Cage or not. Cage may not be able to do it as he may be starting filming on the recently announced, "National Treasure 3" with Disney.
