Daredevil Will Be The New Batman!

So first we got the controversial casting of Peter Capadli as The 12th Doctor and now we have none other than Ben Fucking Affleck cast as Zach Snyder's older and newly rebooted Batman for his 2015 "Man Of Steel" sequel?! My mind is ready to explode with geekness!!! Some people WILL probably hate this casting choice but I for one flippen love it.
I never even thought of him when thinking of older actors to play Bruce Wayne/Batman in the upcoming sequel. I honestly thought that Warner would have gone with actors such as Ryan Gosling, Josh Brolin, Karl Urban, etc. They obviously just thought nah.......BEN AFFLECK!!!! Like I said with the casting of Capadli as The 12th Doctor, not the best casting, but not bad either........THIS GOOD BE GREAT!!!
I think Affleck is perfect because he's an amazing actor and director and I, like Kevin Smith, have always had faith in him and knew that some day he WILL rise again in greatness......obviously he did that with "Hollywood Land", "Argo" and "The Town". Now it's time to see him become a superhero again and prove that 2003's "Daredevil" was just a mistake (even though I loved it) and he CAN play a superhero awesomely after all.
I think that Affleck's Bruce Wayne will be like Robert Downey Jr's Tony Stark.......the guy who brings the team together by cameoing in other superhero films. It's assumed that Affleck will lead off to play Batman in his own standalone films and rejoin Superman and the rest of DC Comics top superheroes in the planned "Justice League" film sometime in 2017.

The Kingpin Is Dead!

On the 4th of September, it was announced that actor Michael Clarke Duncan had passed away at the age of 54, due to a cardiac arrest. Clarke's health has never been good since his heart attack back in July.
He was known for his roles in "The Green Mile", "Daredevil", "Green Lantern", "Sin City" and "Armageddon". He will be sadly missed by a lot of fans.

Joe Carnahan Talks About His "Daredevil" Reboot Vision!

Just two weeks ago, "A-Team" director Joe Carnahan was inches from directing Fox's planned reboot of the 2003 "Daredevil" live-action film. Since then the rights to the character have went back to it's home over at Marvel and Carnahan never got the job and probably never will get it now, now that the rights are in Marvel's hands. 
He talked briefly to The Radio Dan Show about his visions for his planned "Daredevil" film. He had two versions. One was a violent "Hard R" film, like 70's classic, "The Warriors" and the other was a PG-13 rated film with very little violence......12A standards. He wanted his film to be set in the 70's, which is when Frank Miller's "Daredevil: Born Again" story-arc was set. He had a choice to bring it into the present time, but liked the feel back then and he got the inspiration from how popular Matthew Vaughn's "X-Men: First Class" live-action film. That, as fans all know, was set in the swinging 60's.
So here's what he said finally about his visions for the his "Daredevil" reboot, 

"I was brought in pretty late in the game, and my take probably didn’t help matters since they had an existing script. But I just thought that if you were going to do it, this was the way to go. This is the way that intrigued me...It was initially something I passed on because Christopher Nolan had done such a lovely job with Batman and unless you’re going to go after that trilogy, then that’s how you have to think. You can’t out-hurdle that, then what’s the point of trying? So it set the bar extraordinarily high, and I thought ‘Well, if we’re going to do this, let’s have a discussion about Hell’s Kitchen, and how it was really Hell’s Kitchen in the 70s,” so that got me really excited. But as I mentioned, the clock ticking and this kind of October drop-dead date, it wasn’t tenable. And having gone down this road in the past when you’re trying to write something and shoot it at the same time is disastrous, and I think you’d need an adequate amount of time to put that script together in the right way. My brother [Matthew Michael Carnahan (The Kingdom)] was interested in writing it with me, so we’ll see."

And here's what he said about keeping the 70's feel and look from Miller's "Born Again" story-arc,

"As I’m finishing my kind of reimagining of Death Wish, I think the 70s is figuring into my conscious and subconscious mind right now. I think it was the last time music and movies were just tremendous. We just cranked out some great stuff. I think that’s why the sizzle reel is able to be kind of abstract because people have such great fondness in their hearts for that decade, particularly the early part of that decade. I’m excited; you know the idea of having Daredevil on top of a building somewhere with the Serpico marquee in the background was enough, that image was enough, for me to want to make the movie."

Are Fox Making The "Daredevil" Reboot Or Not?

Looks like Fox are really struggling with giving their planned "Daredevil" reboot the light of day at this moment in time. "A-Team" director Joe Carnahan was rumored to be taking over the job of directing the project after David Slade left due to scheduling conflicts.
Now it seems either he's not getting the job or Fox are slowly but surely loosing the rights to the dark comic book character. Carnahan tweeted the following tweets yesterday,

"Think my idea for a certain retro, red-suited, Serpico-styled superhero went up in smoke today kids."

 "We shall see. Time is NOT on anyone's side."

Truly not a very good sign indeed for fans of the character, me being one of them. Maybe if Marvel do take their own reigns of the reboot via Marvel Studios, they could possibly add Daredevil to the Marvel Cinematic Universe-Phase 3 (MCU-P3). It's said that Fox will loose the rights on or around October 10th.

"A-Team" Director Taking On The "Daredevil" Reboot?

It's rumored that "A-Team" director Joe Carnahan is close to signing the dotted line of the contract for the upcoming "Daredevil" reboot. This was brought up when Fox announced that they and Marvel are negotiating with some characters going back to Marvel. If this goes well, then Fox would get some more time on the reboot rather than Marvel taking back the rights and doing it themselves.

The characters that Marvel want back are some key characters from the "Fantastic Four". They want the rights to Galactis and the Silver Surfer back so that they can use them any way they want to.

"Daredevil" Reboot Looses Director!

Fox's "Daredevil" reboot looses it's director, David Slade, due to scheduling conflicts. Slade has signed on to direct the pilot of a new Hannibal Lector TV series.
The studio like the script for the new reboot, so it's just a matter of time before they begin with a new director on board.

Gambit Being Considered For "Daredevil" Reboot?

"X-Men Origins: Wolverine" star, Taylor Kitsch is the latest name that joined the short-list of actors who are up for the role of the new rebooted "Daredevil". It's been suggested that it's a rumor and wont happen seeing as he's now John Carter for the upcoming Disney franchise, "John Carter Of Mars" film series, which begins this year.

The other contenders who are close to the role are Bradley Cooper, Garret Hedlund and Xavier Samuel.

Marvel Studios Plan Two New Films For Summer 2014!

Other than the announcement for the release date for "The Amazing Spider-Man 2", coming on May 2nd 2014, Marvel Studios and Disney just announced that they have two more unknown films coming out in Summer 2014. No word on if it's part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) though.
The first one will be out just two weeks after Spidey's sequel, May 16th 2014 and the second film will be out in June 27th 2014. This means that both Marvel Studios will have 3 superhero films out within a space of two months......WOW, that's gonna be a lot of money. Both studios will be racking it in by the end of the Summer.
Obviously the BIG question is, "Which superheroes are getting a film out in May and June". So say it could be post-Avengers related, to possibly lead up to "The Avengers 2". Others say it could be either "Ant-Man", which director Edgar Wright is currently working on, "Doctor Strange" or even the long-awaited "Luke Cage" film.
I say it might be either the "Daredevil" reboot or the "Fantastic Four" reboot. But hopefully it'll be the "X-Men: First Class" sequel. We'll just have to wait and see, because I'm sure either Disney or Marvel will announce them soon enough.

Upcoming "Daredevil" Reboot Get's Writer!

Writer/producer of "Fringe", Brad Caleb Kane has been hired Fox to pen down the script for David Slade's upcoming "Daredevil" reboot, which is based on Frank Miller's "Born Again" story.

Bradley Cooper, Robert Pattinson & Garrett Hedlund Up For "Daredevil" Role?

Reports are spreading, saying that Bradley "The Hangover" Cooper, Robert "Twilight" Pattinson and Garrett "TRON: Legacy" Hedlund are all in talks with Fox to star as "The Man Without Fear" in David Slade's reboot of the 2003 film, which starred Ben Affleck in the starring role. 

If Pattinson gets the role, this means that he will be the fourth British actor to get a role as an American superhero. Christian Bale as Batman, Andrew Garfield as the new Spider-Man and the latest being Henry Cavill as the new Superman.

Cooper is just desperate for a superhero role. He was sooooo very close to getting the role as the Green Lantern, then he's announced that he'd love to audition for the role of The Flash when it comes to the casting stages. And now it seems that he's in talks for Daredevil instead. This is a much much darker role than the other two. 

As for young Hedlund................he's not got a fucking chance in hell of getting this role. Really neither has Pattinson, but he's got more of a closer chance. He's the popular "Twilight" guy and Hedlund was in "TRON: Legacy", which never done that well. He's fucked! 

I personally will keep saying this, "Cast Dexter for the role. Dexter being Michael C Hall. Either that or bring back Affleck. If not one of them then cast David Tennent or even Timothy Olyphant. I'd cast him as anything really.

David Slade Is Directing The "DAREDEVIL" Reboot!

Fox have announced that "30 Days Of Night" and "Twilight: Eclipse" director, David Slade is set to direct their upcoming reboot of 2003's "Daredevil". Slade will be adapting Frank Miller's "Born Again" story for the new film, which may not be full reboot. It's been rumored that it may be half sequel/half reboot.
Now that the studio have the director, it's time to cast "The Man Without Fear". This could also be a cool title, "Daredevil: The Man Without Fear".  I'd go for Michael C Hall................

Who Should Play The New Daredevil?

As Fox has announced that they plan to reboot Daredevil in the future. I thought that I would put this article together saying who I think would make a good Daredevil on screen.
So here's my top 5 actors to play The Man Without Fear. My real first choice would have to be Michael C Hall. I think that he would be dark in the role, but still a likeable character, just like the character Dexter Morgan, that he plays in the Showtime series, "Dexter". And like his role in Dexter, he would be still playing that vigilante character. Doing what's right and killing the bad guys that the police can't catch.
My other choice would have to be Karl "2009 Bones McCoy" Urban. I think he has the masculinity for the role. I think he would also play a similar Daredevil to what Ben Affleck played. They both kinda look alike in a wee way, so he'd be perfect for the role.
My third choice would have to be Chris "2009 Captain Kirk" Pine. Yes, another Star Trek 2009 film cast member, but I really think he needs his big comic-book character break. Why not give him the role of Daredevil. Only I think Pine would be playing a younger Daredevil, like maybe a couple of years before Affleck's Daredevil. Still cool. He could play Daredevil for an origins reboot, like he did with Captain Kirk for the 2009 Star Trek reboot.
My fourth choice would be John Krasinski, seeing as he never got his chance to play Captain America. I think he should play a superhero. And I think that he would be good as Daredevil. I don't really have a reason why he would be good as Daredevil, I just know that he would, just by looking at him.
And my final choice would have to be Guy Pearce. Again, he's got the masculinity and he kinda would look similar to Affleck, which is kinda good in a way. It's continuity, even though it's gonna be a reboot and is gonna have nothing to do with Affleck's 2003 Daredevil film. But I still think Pearce would make a good Daredevil.
