COMIC-CON: "Justice League" Film Confirmed For A 2017 Release Date!

So while Zach Snyder was confirming a Batman/Superman film in 2015, Warner confirmed a Flash film too and now they've also fully confirmed that the "Justice League" WILL FINALLY BE A FILM IN 2017!!! That's right ladies and gentlemen.......a "Justice League" film IS coming out finally finally finally, but not in 2015 though. I think 2017 is a good time to release it. Gives Warner a lot of time to make it right. Plus, we've got Batman, Superman and The Flash to keep us going for a while.
It's assumed that Henry Cavill, the new guy playing Batman, the guy who's going to play The Flash are all returning for the "Justice League". It's also assumed that Ryan Reynold's will be returning too but nothing has been totally confirmed there yet.

The "Justice League" Line-Up Revealed?

A rumored line-up for the 2015 "Justice League" live-action film has been leaked online. It reveals that Henry Cavill's Superman and Ryan Reynolds's Green Lantern could actually appear in the upcoming planned DC Cinematic Universe after all.
It's been rumored for ages that there would be two split universes. One was the planned reboot "Batman" franchise and the upcoming "Man Of Steel" franchise and the other was going to just be based on the "Justice League". Now it seems that it could be all one universe.
Here's the line-up, courtesy of ComingSoon.net:
• Superman is essentially the same character from Man of Steel, and Zack Snyder is consulting regarding the writing of the character.
• Batman: The strategist of the group. Batman doesn't really want to be involved with these super powered beings he considers too powerful. Easily the most complex written.
• Wonder Woman: She has only been in man's world a few short months. The Wonder Woman script Michael Goldenberg is developing will be set before the Justice League movie.
• Green Lantern: Will be Ryan Reynold's character from the Green Lantern movie, but will be freshly written with a more serious tone.
• Flash: The most popular hero in civilian eyes who loves media attention, but when called upon is very serious.
• Martian Manhunter: Alien who has lived on Earth in secret for over a hundred years who has knowledge of Darkseid and his reign.
• Aquaman: Will be the King of Atlantis who has a key role in the film.
• There will also be a heavy military presence in the film which in future rewrites could include characters featured in Man of Steel or even Amanda Waller (Angela Bassett) of which neither are included in the first draft.
• Alfred Pennyworth is in the film in a minor appearance.
• Lois Lane is also in the film in a cameo.
• Darkseid's Elite will be featured who go up against the Justice League early on in the film.

Holden McNeil To Direct "Justice League" Film?

So it looks like Warner are racing ahead to get a BIG-screen live-action "Justice League" film up and running again in time for it to go head-2-head with Marvel's "Avengers" sequel in around 2015ish. The minute Marvel announced that Joss Whedon was returning to direct "The Avengers 2", DC and Warner rushed in and announced that the long-awaited "Justice League" film was looking for a key director to get the superhero on the BIG-screens. The said that they are looking at Ben Affleck to take the rains of the big budget film.
Apparently now Affleck has gave Warner and big fat "NO!!!" to the project. Variety magazine confirmed this yesterday after the word broke out from Warner Bros. that this was in the planning. Affleck obviously just feels that he's not up for the challenge just yet, maybe some day though.
See what happens when a studio opens their big mouths and says something out loud without thinking about it first. Probably if they spoke to Affleck in a meeting instead of announcing it and him hearing it from someone else, then maybe he would have said "maybe"................silly Warner!
Warner haven't thought any of this through though. Yes they had the "Justice League" filming in development since like 2004/5, but nothing has ever really picked up. Marvel on the other hand have released film after film after film, leading up to the main event that was "Avengers Assemble" or "Marvel's The Avengers".
We had background stories from each character, they crossed-over to let each other be known to each other and get ready for the assemble. Warner and DC are just planning to dive right into a "Justice League" film with a new Batman, probably a new Green Lantern, a Wonder Woman, a Flash and well let's hope.......Henry Cavill and Zach Snyder's Superman, rather than some other guy who we know nothing about.
DC and Warner are planning to release all stand-alone character films after the "Justice League" film, which personally I think is kind of a big mistake! Let them be known to the fans first before throwing them into the deep end with new actors, Superman, Batman and Green Lantern and new looks. marvel worked hard and achieved so much, whereas DC could fail, but only time will tell.

Green Lantern Has Been Cast As The Highlander!

For years now, there have been plans to somehow either totally reboot of just remake the first "Highlander" film. Some plans have seen the light of day and others have just fell through. And then the plans that saw the light of day have then just been cancelled.
Now it seems plans a raring to go BIG time with the Green Lantern himself, Ryan Reynolds, being officially cast as the Highlander, Connor MacLeod in Summit Entertainment's upcoming reboot/remake. All I'm saying is that I just can't wait to hear Reynolds's Scottish accent.

Warner Bros Getting Ready To Make More DC Comic Films!

Now I know this is news from a few weeks back, but I haven't yet reported it so here it is. Warner execs have announced that they are planning to make much more DC Comic films than before. They are said to be going along the lines of what Marvel have been doing with their "Avnegers" films and the stand-alone films for each of the characters in the main film. They announced that the "Justice League" film is back on and it's said that the script is much more dark and mature than Marvel's "Avengers Assemble" script.
"Kick-Ass" creator Mark Millar, gave some news on the script, "A pal of mine is good friends with the new Justice League screenwriter and said his take on the team is incredible. Very real-world and not at all what you might expect. WB has a chequered history with their superhero characters. They're great with their boy wizards, but less consistent with their DC stable. But my chum said that this could be a thing of beauty and has been in the works for a little while now, not just an Avengers knock-off. Best of luck to them. The tidbits I heard sound quite dark and mature, which isn't what I expected. But word on Gangster Squad is great too so I feel this is in really good hands."
There's still no news on when Warner plan to release DC's main event film, but it's still rumored for a 2015 release. Warner, like I said above, plan to have some stand-alone films out before that, like a "Green Lantern 2/Reboot", which is reportedly still starring Ryan Reynolds. The have plans to also finally make a BIG-screen version of female favorite, "Wonder Woman". That film has been in development hell for over 10 years, so hopefully it'll finally see the light of day. The closest updated adaption was the 2011 TV pilot starring Adrianne Palicki.
Warner are also finishing off on another drafted script for "The Flash", which was once rumored to star "Hangover" star, Bradley Cooper. "Aquaman" and "Lobo" are just two other projects being planned right now. Warner plan to have them all released within the next few years, some before the "Justice League" and some after.
The reboot of Nolan's "Batman" franchise is also deffo getting a reboot, so that it can be rebooted to lead up to the "Justice League" film. The next "Batman" reboot is under the working title of "The Batman" with Nolan and his wife staying on as producers. There's no news on wether on not Henry Cavill's Superman will make an appearance in the "Justice League" or if that Superman will just have his own universe and Warner will have a "Justice League" Superman being played by a completely different actor all together. I guess like everything else.............we'll just have to wait and see. But I do know that Warner are going ahead with a "Man Of Steel 2" with Cavill, though not sure if director Zach Snyder will be back of not.

Green Lantern To Take On The Role Of The Batman?

Is Ryan Reynolds being lined up to play Batman once Chris Nolan and Christian Bale leave the franchise this year? It sounds like he could after i read this article online. While in an interview, CEO of Warner Brothers, Barry Meyer spoke about how he and other Warner execs loved working with him on the "Green Lantern" and admitted that the failure of the film wasn't Reynolds fault at all. He then went on to mention that he thinks Reynolds would be perfect for the role of Bruce Wayne/Batman once present Batman, Christian Bale hangs up the cape and mask later this year.
Here's a quote from the site that I saw this on, “We’ve begged Chris [Nolan] to stay on board but he refuses. He feels that he can’t do anything more with the series after this third film. We don’t want to let Batman die though, we know there are tons of fans out there that will want more and that’s why we’re looking into a reboot,” says Barry Meyer, CEO of Warner Bros.
“We loved the work that Ryan did for us on Green Lantern and we feel that he’s the right man to lead the Batman franchise. He’s an extremely talented individual and we hope that fans will embrace him as the new Batman,” continued Meyer.
So what do you fans think about them apples then???

Warner Wants "Superman" And "Green Lantern" Sequels Out By 2015/16 Along With "Justice League" Film?

It's been rumored that Warner Bros want to finally make a "Justice League" film out by either 2015 or 2016, along with a sequel to both "Superman: The Man Of Steel" and "Green Lantern". If this is true, then it seems that Warner must be happy with what they're seeing from the "Superman: The Man Of Steel" footage. It's assumed that the "Green Lantern" sequel will indeed be a sequel and not a reboot to this years BIG-screen cock-up with Ryan Reynolds in the starring role. Loved him, just the movie didn't work well.
David Goyer is supposedly the favourite choice to write the script for the "Justice League" film. It's unknown if Henry "Superman" Cavill and Ryan "Green Lantern" Reynolds will return to their roles of the DC cross-over film, but it's assumed that they will. Christian "Batman" Bale is deffo not expected to return to his role.

"Green Lantern 2" To Be Better Than First Film!

Warner Bros President, Jeffrey Robinov has gave fans an update on what the sequel to this years (not so great) BIG-screen adaption of "Green Lantern". He has said that the sequel will be much darker, have more action packed and will be edgier than the first film.
Eventhough the film was considered a box-office flop, Robinov says that it's opening weekend was pretty "decent". He also said that the problem with the film was the director, Martin Campbell. He aint returning for the sequel, eventhough he was contracted to do so.
Robinov commented on the (already penned script) for the sequel, which was written by Greg Berlanti, Michael Green and Marc Guggenheim, who also wrote the first films script. He said that their new script will be totally re-wrote and done again......basically Warner plan to totally reboot the script and start again, but cutting out the whole origin story. Just dive into action, with Ryan Reynolds hopefully returing. He was great. There was nothing wrong with him.

"Green Lantern" Is Good & Bad!

Went and saw "Green Lantern" the other day. In a nut-shell, the film is good and bad. I didn't think it would have been amazing when I saw the trailers, but it did looks as though it would have it's moments.....and it did. It's no "X-Men: First Class", but it's deffo watchable.
Critics have slagged it big time, and it ain't that bad. It seems as though Warner don't give a shit about the critics. It's just been announced that they are going ahead with "Green Lantern II". It was announced, way back before the first film came out, that the script for number 2 had been wrote and was getting touched up a bit. Then after the reception of the first film, everyone thought that the sequel was in major trouble, but it seems as though it's fine then.
The film, at first, was extremely slow. It did pick up big time, but by that time it was nearly finished, which was really pish. Ryan Reynolds is the shit as Hal Jordan/Green Lantern. He was perfect for the role. The CGI suit is amazing. Had some daubts on the suit, but it was fucking amazing looking. The things he could do were cool, but some of the things were a bit stupid, but it was fun. Some of the CGI was a bit shity looking. I felt as though I was watching a kids CGI cartoon. Bit too much CGI for some things. But hey, what can you do.
Mark Strong was great as the Lantern leader, Sinestro. There's a scene at the end that sets him up for something big in the sequel. Sinestro hates Hal Jordan at first. Makes him believe that he's not good enough to become a Lantern, but he proves him wrong at the end, after fighting Paralax. Peter Sarsgaard was brilliant as Dr Hector Hammond, but his part in the film was pretty shite. He wasn't given enough on-screen time. His character became mega brilliant for about 20 minutes and then got (SPOILERS) killed off. Shite!!! And now onto Blake Lively as Carol Ferris. Her character was, with out a doubt, fucking pointless. She was just there to be the sex-on-legs character for the guys to love. She's hot, but shite. I don't know if it was because of the wrong casting. Not sure, but I didn't like the character.
The film's main villain, Paralax was cool looking. Great villain. The story basically circuled around him or it coming to earth and destroying anything and everything in it's way on the way there.
Here's hoping the sequel will be a lot better (storylines wise). I'd give it 6/10.

UPDATE: Warner have released a statement saying that a sequel has actually not been confirmed yet. It's still in discussion.

Blake Lively To Possibly Become Star Sapphire In "Green Lantern 2"

Blake Lively has said that she is opened to the idea of her character in "Green Lantern" to become the villainess Star Sapphire in the films sequel, if she was asked to do it. And that's basically it really.

"Justice League" Is Filming Coming......Good & Bad Thing!

Warner have announced that work on the cancelled "Justice League" film is now back on again. They plan to have the film released by 2013, which will be one year after Marvel Comics "The Avengers". They only thing that'll suck about this film is that none of the stand-alone DC films out now will build up to "Justice League", unlike "The Avengers" and the Marvel films out now.
Warner have also announced that they plan to recast everyone for the new film. This means that Ryan Reynolds wont be playing Green Lantern, Henry Cavill or Brandon Routh wont be playing Superman and Christian Bale wont be playing Batman. And this is why "The Avengers" will also be awesome, as everyone in the stand-alone films out now will all be returning for the 2012 film. Ryan Reynolds literally confirmed that his Green Lantern will deffo not be appearing in "Justice League". Now that's really sucky...........fucking DC!

Barbossa To Voice Tomar-Re In "Green Lantern"

"Pirates Of The Caribbean" star, Geoffrey Rush has signed on to voice the role of Tomar-Re in DC's upcoming BIG-screen verison of "Green Lantern, starring Ryan Reynolds and directed by Martin Campbell.
