Whilst at COMIC-CON, "Avengers" director and GEEK genius Joss Whedon confirmed that his 2015 "Avengers" sequel will be called "Avengers: Age Of Ultron". It's called this because classic comic book villain Ultron will be the films lead villain before it's assumed Thanos will take on Earth's Mightiest Heroes in the third film.
On the note of Thanos, he's been confirmed to show up in next years "Guardians Of The Galaxy". It's not been confirmed if he's one of the lead villains or if he's just showing up to make himself known again.

Robert Downey Jr Is Back As Tony Stark In "Avengers" Sequels!
It's a proud day when I can report that the great Robert Downey Jr will indeed be returning to the role of Tony Stark aka Iron Man in Joss Whedon's "Avengers" sequels. That's right, not only has he signed on for "Avengers 2", but he's also signed on to "Avengers 3" too.......AMAZING!!! The only downer is that in this contract, there's no sign of an "Iron Man 4" sadly, but hey ho, this is good enough.
I personally think that at some point in the MCU, Robert Downey Jr's Tony Stark/Iron Man will probably take a back seat and let the next generation of Avengers come in and take over. As much as I love Downey Jr as Tony Stark, he really really can't stay in the role forever.

Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch In "Avengers 2" And Quicksilver In "X-Men: Days Of Future Past" Too!
So both Bryan "X-Men: Days Of Future Past" Singer and Joss "Avengers 2" Whedon have confirmed that they are planning to have Quicksilver in both their superhero films. Singer and Fox have found their actor for their Quicksilver whereas Whedon and Marvel haven't. "America Horror Story" actor Evan Peters will be playing Quicksilver in "Days Of Future Past". "Kick-Ass" star Aaron Taylor-Johnson is rumoured to take on the role of Whedon's Quicksilver, but nothing has been confirmed. Whedon also plans to have Silvers twin sister Scarlet Witch in his "Avengers" sequel also along with Quicksilver.

Cobie Smulders Possibly Appearing In "S.H.I.E.L.D" TV Show!
Now that the live action "S.H.I.E.L.D" TV show has began filming, some MCU S.H.I.E.L.D actors have been asked if they would like to cameo or have a main role in the Joss Whedon produced show. Sam Jackson has commented saying that he would cameo in it if asked, Clark Gregg is already appearing in the show, but no one knows how.
"Avengers Assemble" actress Cobie Smulders, who played sexy S.H.I.E.L.D Agent Maria Hill has said that she would, same as Jackson, be up for a part in the upcoming August 2013 series pilot. She said that if she starred in the show full time that there would be no problems with her other show "How I Met Your Mother",
"The commitments to [How I Met Your Mother] don't affect it. And I can't really say but there are definite talks about it."
Smulders has also spoke about her return to the MCU in next years "Captain America: The Winter Soldier". She says that she doesn't really know much about her role, as it's all under wraps,
"I've seen parts of it, but yeah I don't know much. This is Marvel! They don't let you know anything. It's very watermarked scripts, heavily watermarked. Yeah, they don't let you know like the day of, but they are very secretive and I think they are still figuring stuff out."

Loki Not Back For "Avengers 2" In 2015?
In a recent interview, Tom Hiddleston, who plays the villainess Loki in both "THOR" and "Avengers Assemble", has stated that he may not be returning to play the villain in the "Avengers" sequel in 2015. Hiddleston will though, be returning as Loki in "THOR: The Dark World" next year.
Could next year be the final time fans will see Loki? I hope not because he is the best villain on the big screen right now. Maybe he'll disappear and come back more powerful in future Marvel Cinematic Universe films.
"I don't know, and that really is the honest answer. I know I've been known for obfuscation in other quarters, but I have no idea. I haven't spoken to Joss. He's definitely doing it. So I suspect not, only because I think that probably the audiences are tired of Loki being the bad guy. Maybe the Avengers need somebody else to fight. But I'd love to be part of it again."

Joss Whedon Discusses "S.H.I.E.L.D: TV Series"
A month or so back it was confirmed that a new TV spin-off to the BIG-screen "Avengers" film was in the works with Joss Whedon attached to helm the pilot episode. It was then confirmed that the untitled TV show would be a S.H.I.E.L.D based live-action series that would be set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Whedon was then confirmed to be directing the first episode and stay on as a potential producer or like Nolan to the new "Superman" film...........A GODFATHER TO THE SHOW!!!
Now Joss Whedon has came out and discussed details on this new series. Here's what he said,
Even though Whedon has said that the show will feature whole set of new characters, it's still be strongly rumored that Clark Gregg's Agent Coulson will pop up in either flash back sequences or that the show may be a prequel to the whole MCU. It's also been rumored that the cast from Marvel's short film "ITEM 47" will pop up to in some sort of a way.
Now Joss Whedon has came out and discussed details on this new series. Here's what he said,
“It's
trucking right along. I’m writing it with Jed Whedon and Maurissa
Tancharoen, my brother and sister-in-law who worked on “Dollhouse” with
me. And we’re planning to shoot it just as soon as we can get it up and
running. It’s an ensemble show, so we’ve gotta find the right cast. We
found a way to structure it so that what we’re dealing with are agents
of S.H.I.E.L.D. who are the humans in a superhero world and how they
deal with that and how it makes them vulnerable.”
And here's what he said about the show characters being brand-new and will not feature any of the BIG-screen superheroes,

"The Avengers 2" Gets It's Official Release Date!
The guys over at Disney confirmed that on May 1st, 2015................THE AVENGERS WILL AGAIN SAVE THE WORLD FROM EVIL!!!
It's rumored that Thanos and Loki will join forces and try to take down the team of superheroes in the highly-anticipated sequel. Thanos was introduced in one of the two post-credits scenes. Thanos is also rumored to be the lead villain in Marvel's "Guardians Of The Universe" live-action film.
He will possibly cross-over with the Guardians into the "Avengers" universe, even though the film is part of "Phase 2" of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), which means it's all one big universe to them.

Holden McNeil To Direct "Justice League" Film?
So it looks like Warner are racing ahead to get a BIG-screen live-action "Justice League" film up and running again in time for it to go head-2-head with Marvel's "Avengers" sequel in around 2015ish. The minute Marvel announced that Joss Whedon was returning to direct "The Avengers 2", DC and Warner rushed in and announced that the long-awaited "Justice League" film was looking for a key director to get the superhero on the BIG-screens. The said that they are looking at Ben Affleck to take the rains of the big budget film.
Apparently now Affleck has gave Warner and big fat "NO!!!" to the project. Variety magazine confirmed this yesterday after the word broke out from Warner Bros. that this was in the planning. Affleck obviously just feels that he's not up for the challenge just yet, maybe some day though.
See what happens when a studio opens their big mouths and says something out loud without thinking about it first. Probably if they spoke to Affleck in a meeting instead of announcing it and him hearing it from someone else, then maybe he would have said "maybe"................silly Warner!
Warner haven't thought any of this through though. Yes they had the "Justice League" filming in development since like 2004/5, but nothing has ever really picked up. Marvel on the other hand have released film after film after film, leading up to the main event that was "Avengers Assemble" or "Marvel's The Avengers".
We had background stories from each character, they crossed-over to let each other be known to each other and get ready for the assemble. Warner and DC are just planning to dive right into a "Justice League" film with a new Batman, probably a new Green Lantern, a Wonder Woman, a Flash and well let's hope.......Henry Cavill and Zach Snyder's Superman, rather than some other guy who we know nothing about.
DC and Warner are planning to release all stand-alone character films after the "Justice League" film, which personally I think is kind of a big mistake! Let them be known to the fans first before throwing them into the deep end with new actors, Superman, Batman and Green Lantern and new looks. marvel worked hard and achieved so much, whereas DC could fail, but only time will tell.

Joss Whedon Takes The Throne Again!
Disney have confirmed that he will be returning to direct and write the highly-anticipated "Avengers" sequel. News of this was announced at the Walt Disney Investors Conference Call yesterday. It was also announced that Whedon will also be involved in the planned ABC/Disney live-action TV show based in "The Avengers" Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Here's what was said,
“Joss
Whedon has signed an exclusive deal with Marvel Studios for film and
television through the end of June 2015. As part of that deal, Whedon
will write and direct Marvel’s The Avengers 2 as well as help develop a
new live action series for Marvel Television at ABC. He will also contribute creatively to the next phase of Marvel’s cinematic universe.”
At least we all now know that this TV show is going to be the dogs bollocks then when it comes to story and special effects, etc. But yeah this is very good news for fans of the franchise. We all knew he was going to do it.
